Since I was young I have battled the credit beast. I had to learn the hard way that the credit was not something to mess around with.
You know it is actually kind of funny, I clearly remember what my very first credit card purchase was. I was probably 18 and of course a college student. Discover card decided they wanted to take a risk on me. It was the start of a very rocky relationship. I remember receiving my shiny new piece of plastic in the mail, I was so excited. I think my limit was $1000. So many zero's!
I went to the mall with my mom, my sister and my shiny piece of plastic in my wallet, it was burning a hole. I was afriad it would melt the plastic. As we walked through the stores trying to decide what to do with it. We saw the store, FootLocker. Yep, we went to FootLocker. That day, my very first purchase and my ticket to credit hell was 3 pretty pairs of sneakers, one for my mom, one for my sister and one for myself.
I think I finally paid those damn sneakers off 5 years later... I wont even mention the interest. Yeah, it was shortly after that I decided I needed to break up with Discover, or maybe they broke up with me - it is kind of foggy these days...
That is where it began. Finally a gazillion years later, I have "Fair" credit. Crack me up. Not a single late payement in 6 years and they still say I have "Fair" credit. Well you know what, FU!
I shouldnt be looking at my credit report when I am cranky...
